Erythrina lysistemon

Erythrina lysistemon is commonly called a Coral Tree or a Lucky Bean Tree (because of its bright red seeds). It usually blooms from mid-July to October, the spiky scarlet flowers appearing before the leaves emerge and so they stand out in the landscape and make a beautiful show even when seen from afar.

I’ll bet you thought my E was going to be for Elephant!
