    • This enormous – really enchanted forest enormous – plant began as a pot plant one of my sons bought at a fund-raiser. When I found it all dried up and very neglected one day, I planted it in a shady part of the garden and more or less forgot about it once it had recovered. I am amazed how large it has become and how far its lateral roots have spread. Its Latin name is Monstera deliciosa.
