23/03/2021 by Anne LILAC-BREASTED ROLLER These two photographs are especially for my overseas readers in response to my comment about the European Roller not being as colourful as others that occur here. This is the Lilac-breasted Roller seen in the Kruger National Park a few years ago. Share this:TwitterFacebookLike Loading... Related
I so wish that one day I can catch a photograph of a Lilac-breasted Roller in flight with its wings outstretched! LikeLike Reply
That is a dream of mine too. When you are successful it will deserve a blog entry all of its own 🙂 LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
What a beauty! Thanks so much for sharing. It must be such a treat to see that lovely, lovely bird. LikeLike Reply
If I was able to paint, I would derive deep satisfaction from bringing one of these birds to life on paper. LikeLiked by 1 person Reply
I thought the European Roller was quite handsome in an earthy way. He seemed to carry the ground on his back and the sky on his underside. This lilac roller is a beauty. A lot of subtle color. Thanh you. LikeLike Reply
