I feel the need to brighten up this blog a little for this tends to be a drab time of the year. As today is the fourth of the month, I decided to take the fourth picture from four different years that show aspects of my garden – bar one:
Look at the shape of these feet.
Rocking a rather rad septum ring there!

I thought it should have given up the ring a long time ago 🙂

A fun selection, Anne. I’ve never seen a nose ring quite like that before. Why so jagged?

These orange plastic rings were used widely a few years ago – perhaps that was simply what the local farmers co-op had in stock.

A nice selection. When the weather changes it’s nice to showcase sunnier times.

I know you do this too – it helps to inject some colour into the winter 🙂 🙂

What a brilliant idea to choose pictures in that way! I keep forgetting that your seasons are the opposite to ours – we are just getting the most colour.

Such glorious colour too! Not that we can complain with orange aloes and Cape Honeysuckle along with a variety of purple wild flowers blossoming at the moment.

I’m glad I included the cow picture, which seems to have attracted the most attention – it really is a random picture 🙂 🙂

I have a few cape gooseberry plants in my planter boxes right now! They are only a couple of inches high so far, but they are liking the recent heat with rain, and growing faster… I just eat them like candy 🙂

The fruit is delicious. Thanks to the drought, we haven’t had a good crop this year. I notice some seedlings growing up around the garden though, so better luck next time 🙂

I think the spikey nose-ring is a weaning device to prevent the young animal from suckling as the spikes cause the mother to move away.
